Over the past four decades, HARC has provided leadership and science-backed research on issues related to water, air, energy, and resilience. Join us as we celebrate our past and prepare for the next 40 years – creating a future that is sustainable, equitable, and thriving.
The highlight of the evening will be a keynote presentation by Dr. Katharine Hayhoe.
Named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People and Fortune magazine’s World’s Greatest Leaders, Dr. Hayhoe is a world-renowned atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on understanding what climate change means for people and the places in which they live. She is the Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy, a Horn Distinguished Professor and Endowed Professor of Public Policy and Public Law at Texas Tech University, and the host of the PBS digital series, Global Weirding. Her book, Saving Us: A Climate Scientist’s Case for Hope and Healing in a Divided World, was released in September 2021. Her TED talk, The most important thing you can do to fight climate change: talk about it, has nearly 4 million views.
